CEBU CITY – A former council member from the coastal village of Talisay City was apprehended in a drug bust operation on Sunday night, resulting in the confiscation of around PHP1.3 million worth of suspected shabu.
Romeo Santillan, 44, who previously served as a councilman in Tangke, Talisay City, was arrested in the nearby village of San Roque while conducting a transaction with an undercover police officer posing as a buyer, as reported by Lt. Francis Russue, the officer from the Cebu Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU).
Santillan was found in possession of 200 grams of suspected shabu along with drug paraphernalia.
“His involvement name to light based on the information we gathered. We conducted surveillance on the suspect, confirming his engagement in illegal drug activities,” Russue informed reporters on Monday. (PNA)
