DSWD Eastern Visayas Conducts Assessment for Listahanan 3 Database to Ensure Inclusive Social Protection Programs

TACLOBAN CITY – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in Eastern Visayas (Region 8) is currently assessing 20,306 impoverished families classified as 'not found' in the Listahanan 3 database.

Listahanan, also known as the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR), serves as an administrative tool for identifying families eligible for social protection programs. Jonalyndie Chua, the DSWD regional information officer, stated that enumerators, following a holiday break, are continuing the second round of special assessments for Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) members, initiated late last year.

Chua emphasized, "The assessment aims to ensure the inclusion of all 4Ps beneficiaries in the Listahanan database, proper allocation of government funds for the poor, and the provision of due assistance to all rightful beneficiaries through various social protection programs and services."

As of December 31, 2023, DSWD personnel have interviewed 5,867 of the targeted 4Ps families in six provinces of Eastern Visayas. According to Chua, the Listahanan 3, released in 2023, identified 365,086 impoverished households out of the total 848,662 households assessed in Eastern Visayas.

This database will serve as the most up-to-date reference for data users, aiding them in identifying potential beneficiaries for their social protection programs and services. (PNA)
