BUTUAN CITY – Hailing from Tandag City, Surigao del Sur, a local dance ensemble is gearing up to vie for the championship at the World Supremacy Battlegrounds (WSB) Asia X Home Group 2024 in Singapore.
In a statement released on Thursday, the group, known as D’NextPlay Cru, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to represent Surigao del Sur and the Philippines on the international stage of this street dance competition. The event is scheduled to take place at *SCAPE The Ground Theatre in Singapore from January 26 to 28.
Comprising 12 members, the local hip-hop group is confident about their chances of winning the crown, taking pride in representing their province and country. D’NextPlay Cru previously secured the first-place title during the WSB Asia held at the University of Southern Philippines Foundation in Cebu City on April 15 last year.
Described as an innovative street dance competition, the World Supremacy Battlegrounds Asia X Home Group 2024 is anticipated to redefine the dance landscape in Southeast Asia, according to a statement from *SCAPE management. The upcoming event promises a unique celebration of culture, creativity, and competition.
Dance groups from various countries, including Australia, New Zealand, Japan, the Philippines, Nepal, India, Malaysia, and Indonesia, are expected to participate in the three-day competition, coinciding with the commencement of Singapore Art Week 2024. (PNA)
