Governor Henry S. Oaminal envisions Mindanao as the next "Maldives" with the establishment of the Asenso Misamis Occidental Resort and Aquamarine Park (AMORAP) Project.
The 49-hectare project, located in Barangay Libertad Bajo, Sinacaban, aims to become the largest resort in Mindanao, inspired by renowned island resorts in the Indian Ocean.
During his recent inspection on January 21, 2024, Governor Oaminal, accompanied by Provincial Engineering Office head Engr. Ophelia Gorre, received a briefing on the construction progress.
The ambitious coastal development, aptly dubbed "The Maldives of Mindanao," promises to elevate tourism not only in Misamis Occidental but throughout the province.
The extensive amenities of the project include a Welcome Center, Artisan Exhibit Pods, Common Pool, Exhibition Area, Midpoint Rest Cafe, Inland Villas, Inland Villas with Jacuzzi, Fish Pond, Fish Feeding, Mangrove Villas, Club House, Spa Village, Restaurant by the Sea, Coastal Villas with swimming pool, Life Guard Station, Wharf, Meditation Platform, Diving School, Playground, Sports Courts, Events Place, Chapel, Parking Area, 9-hole Golf Course, Driving Range, Commercial Center, Camping Site, Nature Trails, Bird Sanctuary, Aquaculture, Vegetable Plantation, and a 4-storey hotel. This project marks a significant milestone in the region's tourism landscape.
The groundbreaking ceremony, held on November 30, 2022, witnessed the participation of Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Ivan John E. Uy and MisOcc 1st District Representative Jason P. Almonte.
